NAFA 4 SEASONS CARP LEAGUE

In the early hours of this morning, 22 keen anglers arrived at the 2025 Newton Abbot Fishing Association (NAFA) Carp League, gearing up for their 27 hour session on the bank.
First and foremost, we’d like to say a massive thank you to the organisers for putting this fantastic event together and for giving us the opportunity to sponsor NAFA 2025. We’d also like to thank our brilliant angling community — without all of you, events like this simply wouldn’t be possible.

We’re really excited to see what today has in store. It’s all about enjoying the sport we’re so passionate about. Of course, we’re all hoping for that big catch and maybe even a win, but just as important is having the patience and taking the time to enjoy the experience out here.

Best of luck to everyone — here’s to plenty of action on the rods, some decent weather, and a great day of friendly competition!
The guys have been tasked to obtain a fish from each pond to win extra prizes for island they have to try and catch the Long common and for Dores they have to try and catch the Big common If an angler is lucky enough to obtain either of these fish they’ll be rewarded in a bait bundle!

Lloyd Radford kicks the match off with a 27lb 12oz common from peg 25 on island, Lloyd is currently in 1st place! Having his rods out for less than 30 minutes!!!
Justin Lee on peg 9 Dores with a 24lb 6oz mirror (88) this puts Justin into 2nd place in the league so far!

We’re well into the action here at NAFA and the competition is heating up! Here’s how things are looking:
1st place – Tim Frost with a total weight of 46lb 10 oz
2nd place – As of 17:45 this afternoon Nathan Miller caught the Long Common at 32lb 4 oz pushing him into second place and securing one of the HKBaits bundle!
3rd place – Lloyd Radford with a total weight of 27lb 12 oz

So far we have a total weight of 208 lbs 15oz and one peg change from Andy Short, who has moved from peg 26 island to peg 10 on Island.

What an incredible start to the 2025 NAFA Carp League! The first match of the series has now wrapped up, and it’s safe to say it did not disappoint.
From the first cast to the final whistle, our anglers gave it their all during the relentless 27-hour session. There were fantastic catches across both ponds, keeping everyone on their toes! with a total weight of both lakes being at 371lb 4oz!!
A huge congratulations to Tim Frost coming 1st place, Josh Critchell in 2nd and Nathan Miller 3rd who secured the top three places, and to Leon Wilson & Nathan Miller for completing the “Wanted fish” game and winning them selves a bait bundle!
Lastly, we just want to thank you all once again for making the opening match such a success.
